What an adventure--sitting through the autobiographical play of young Sam Clemens! We went to the Coterie Theater in Crown Center for "Life on the Mississippi" with 30 other homeschoolers. The songs were fast, the Southern twang was thick, and the steamboat whistle blared authentically. An awesome set to showcase the talented actors who made Mark Twain, his younger brother, and his boss come to life before our eyes. Talking afterwards, we noticed that there are many similarities to being a riverboat pilot then and an airplane pilot now. Hope my boys will be "Cubs" soon.Friday, February 19, 2010
