Also known as the Dormition of the Theotokos, today we celebrate the death and assumption into heaven of Mary the Mother of God and Queen of Heaven.The week was also the saint days of Maximilian Kolbe (pictured) and St. Theresa Benedicta, both of whom died in the gas chambers at Auschwitz for their Catholic witness. Our homeschool curriculum is dedicated to St. Kolbe, and we ask for his prayers for the upcoming school year.
