Going Global

Captain booked tickets for Meggar and I to take a trip abroad! We leave on May 18 and only booked the airlines on May 1--doing two things at once is a Schmidling vice (or virtue depending upon your point of view). The reason for the last minute RUSH is the Sutherland family. They have been living in Germany for three years with the Air Force, and each summer I have begged to take our whole family to Europe. This is our last chance, as they will be moving back to the States in early June. Captain cannot get much time off, and he insists it would be a proper treat for the homeschool mom who has just completed the graduation of her first student. Plus the twins have hockey in Minnesota the end of May, so he will take them to their tournament and watch the house (which is still having water troubles). He is also recommending two days of fishing in Canada since they will be so far north already.
The only trouble now is passport renewal. We sent everything off altogether, but the State Department wants a copy of my marriage license before they will issue new passports! We are praying for the overnight mail to do the trick--as the boys leave in 2 days and the girls leave in 5 days.
