Tonight, our daughter performed her first Concerto with a live orchestra. Meggar was splendid as the opening number with a flawless execution of "Concerto in G Major." The piece was composed by Dr. Matthew Edwards, the new director of keyboard studies here at Missouri Western State University. He was in the audience, which luckily was not disclosed to Meggar until afterward. Wife managed a presentation of roses to her on stage without any tears, and best of all Captain Schmidling was able to attend!
He usually listens by cell phone to these Thursday concerts every semester. (Dorito, Polar Bear, and Winger did their best in the string section, too!) Teacher Margie was also there to listen and admire.
