Senior Piano Recital

We wanted to make it a special night for Meggar and Margie, her piano teacher. The boys specially wore their tuxedoes and jackets! We knew the Art Museum would the perfect setting, and the pink azaleas really set the stage. Miss Jennifer was an excellent emcee, adding an explanation between each piece to create an intimate experience for our family and friends. With 26 relatives and 50-some guests, the crowd was held in awe as Meggar appeared in her Truman-purple gown and played the first seven songs from memory. She has never done better!
- Invention No. 8 (Bach)
- Courante from French Suite #6 (Bach)
- Sonata in B-flat Major (Mozart)
- Valse (Chopin)
- Nocturne (Chopin)
- Album Leaf (Debussy)
- The Girl with the Flaxen Hair (Debussy)
Note: Wife always cries during the Chopin Nocturne.
Then Meggar and her teacher joined together on the "Concerto" from last night, with Margie playing the orchestral reduction on a facing keyboard. Lastly, Meggar asked each of her brothers to perform one of their violin songs on stage.

- Gavotte (by Lully) with Winger,

- Gavotte from "Mignon" (by Thomas) with Polar Bear,
and a grand finale, in every sense of the word, with Dorito on Concerto No. 5 (by Seitz).

The lump in my throat was the only reason my heart did not burst out of my body. We were all glowing with pride and joy!!
