Who knew that the Pope would be Catholic?

Amid all the surprises yesterday, I find humor in the reports of the mainstream media (who are not even Protestant but are trying to interpret the Catholic Church's future?). I find consolation in the truth we already know about Pope Francis--he has spoken against abortion, homosexual marriage and adoption, euthanasia, and contraception. He stood on the balcony yesterday evening in humble acknowledgement of the huge task before him. And he said blithely: You all know that the duty of the Conclave was to give a bishop to Rome. It seems that my brother Cardinals have gone almost to the ends of the earth to get him … but here we are.
