Desserts and Dates

We hosted a little gathering of couples around our dining room table: Spencer and Meggar were the guests of honor. I dished up apple pie a la mode, plus chocolate truffles, shortbread, and brownie bites as the main temptations. Conversations bubbled along easily and pleasantly. I don't have photos of the guests nor a fancy quote from a famous pilgrim to post. But I will say that Thanksgiving vacation is a wonderful chance to relax and be grateful for friendships. And here is a snapshot of my kitchen table and window where I have a little message chalkboard that changes with the seasons, holidays, and feast days.
